Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Program «Master in Tourism» is certified by the World Tourism Organizatio

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University became the first higher education institution in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, whose educational undergraduate and graduate programs in the specialty "Tourism" were recognized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) – a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism.


Developed by this most prestigious international tourist organization the system of quality certification in tourism education “UNWTO.TedQual” aimed at improving the effectiveness of training in the field of tourism, including tourism research.

Certification criteria include quality, efficiency and relevance of the training programs in the field of tourism in relation to the processes of learning, the academic sector, students and external partners in the public and private sectors.

In addition, UNWTO.TedQual provides a platform for the promotion and exchange of knowledge and experience between accredited institutions within the framework of exchange programs UNWTO.TedQual and Mentoring Program. Diploma of the accreditation system "TedQual" certifies the quality of education, training and research implemented in the framework of the educational Tourism Program.

Diploma of compliance with international quality standards for the Education Program («Bachelor in Tourism») was issued by the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for a maximum period – 4 years – in October 2012. Master Program («Master in Tourism») is certified for the same period, to 25 July 2017.
