KazNU athletes returned from the World Universiade with achievements

Winners of XXXI The World Summer Universiade was met at the airport of Almaty by representatives of alma mater.

Athletes of Kazakhstan successfully perform at the World Summer Universiade, which started on July 28 in Chengdu (China).

The Universiade competitions are held in 18 sports. Young athletes from among the students and graduates of KazNU adequately defended the honor of Kazakhstan and their alma mater in athletics, judo and target shooting competitions.

From the first day, KazNU athletes were among the best. The master of sports of international class, the owner of 4 DAN in judo Bekarys Saduakas won a bronze medal in judo in the weight category of 100 kg.

Asian sambo champion, winner of silver and bronze medals of the World Championship, five-time champion of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sungat Zhubatkan took the bronze medal in judo in the 66 kg weight category.

Master of Sports of international class in bullet shooting, champion of Asia 2019, bronze medalist of the Asian Championship in bullet shooting 2022, 3-time silver medalist of the World Cup 2023, multiple champion of international competitions in Germany, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, multiple record holder of Kazakhstan Konstantin Malinovsky won silver and bronze medals in archery competitions an air rifle.

Arina Altukhova, the champion and prize-winner of the World Cup, the World Junior Championship in bullet shooting, the 5th Summer Spartakiad of the Peoples of Asia, showed good results.

The rest of our team members will perform before the end of the Universiade: Kristina Morozova – athletics, Nariman Kurbanov – gymnastics, Alibek Musin – swimming.

The Summer World Universiade ends on August 8.

KazNU athletes actively participate in many competitions at the regional, national and international levels. They represent the university at various tournaments, championships and Olympic Games. KazNU named after al-Farabi is proud of the sporting achievements of its student athletes.
