“Tilsuer” competition for philologists

On September 20, 2023, the “Kokzhiek” scientific-creative club organized the “Tilsuer” competition for philologists at the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The competition was held within the framework of celebrating the Day of Languages.

 The competition was held among the 1st year students who were divided into two teams: “Ana til” and “Bilim dikanshylary”.  The teams were made up of the 1st year students,  majoring in Kazakh Philology   (Suigenbayeva Nargiz, Daniyar Maral, and Ibzharova Aizat)  and in “Applied Linguistics (Ongarbayeva Gulzharkyn, Anuarbek Saida, and Kuanush Tomiris).

There were in “Tilsuer” competition. The participants completed  engaging  tasks on set phrases, synonyms, and archaic words. They were very motivated by  the task of searching for synonymous phraseological units.

The jury members were associate professor Musaly L., the club leader, Alma Kenzhekhozhayeva, Master of Philology, Nurken Narikbai and Karakat Zhanarbek, the 3rd year prize students.
