THE YKYLLAS MUSEUM OF FOLK MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS - THE GOLDEN CRADLE OF CULTURAL MODERNIZATION.

With the support of the club "Local lore" of the Department of Pre-University Training, students from abroad made a cultural excursion to the museum of folk musical instruments named after Ykyllas Dukenuly, where were presented rare types of musical instruments of the Kazakh people - jabuaz, adyrna, sherter, widespread - dombra, kobyz, sybyzgy, zhetygen, as well as representatives of Turkic peoples -ud, tar, dutar, gidzhak, satar, got acquainted with the instruments of the peoples of the world - sarangi, panduri, mandolin, erhu, bandura and others. 
The fund of the museum, which is the national heritage of the Kazakh people, contains more than 1000 exhibits representing national musical instruments, as well as musical culture of 34 countries of the world. There are 7 exposition halls. These are: hall of origin of folk music, hall of wind, percussion and noise instruments, hall of masters, hall of memorial kobyz, hall of dombra and kobyz, hall of musical heritage of Turkic peoples, hall of instruments of the peoples of the world. The museum has a scientific and conservation departments, an exhibition hall, an assembly hall, which are engaged in the preservation of exhibits, propaganda and popularization of musical heritage, as well as research work of museum collections.
