KazNU scientists visited the Center for Islamic Studies in Istanbul

Scientists of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Head of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies, Professor A.D. Kurmanalieva, associate professors M.R. Baltymova and M.B. Alikbayeva, and Deputy Dean of the Faculty A.O. Omirbekova went on a business trip to conduct scientific research at the Center for Islamic Studies, Istanbul (ISAM — Islam Araştırmaları Merkezi) within the framework of grant financing projects 2023-2025. AP19675827 "The language of Philosophy and the philosophy of the language of Abu Nasr al-Farabi" and AP19676515 "The Good Man in the legacy of Al-Farabi and Turkic scholars: a comparative discourse". ISAM is engaged in scientific research in the field of Turkish and Islamic history, culture and civilization. In this regard, ISAM has implemented many national and international research projects, also organizes conferences and symposiums, publishes books, journals and encyclopedias. ISAM continues its academic activities, striving to make significant contributions to Turkology and Islamic studies in general, especially with a focus on Islamic sciences, through extensive research projects covering the Middle East, Central Asia, the Balkans and North Africa. The Deputy director of the center, Mr. Yashar Cholak, as a specialist in the history of Islam, was asked to be a supervisor for doctoral students, give lectures as a visiting professor, and also provide an opportunity for students to conduct research practice at the ISAM Center. Information was also received about the ISAM journal "Osmanli Arastirmalari - Journal of Ottoman Studies", included in the Citation Index for Arts and Humanities – AHCI (Clarivate Analytics), Scopus (Elsevier) Turkologischer Anzeiger, Index Islamus and TÜBITAK ULAKBIM Humanities Index and a proposal for publishing articles for journals in the Bulletin of KazNU.
