On December 1, at 14:00, as part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals SDG-1, SDG-4, SDG-5, the students of the group POR-110, under the guidance of the curator of the group, N.B. Dengelbaeva, got acquainted with the life of readers of the Republican Library for blind and visually impaired citizens. Most of the readers are library staff. Among the visually impaired and blind employees there are specialists recognized in various fields of activity: "computer scientist", "programmer-technician", "sound engineer", "singer, "poet", etc.
One of the library staff spoke about how he listens to audiobooks and creates the most comfortable conditions by translating them into Braille, which can be read by the blind. He introduced the activities of scanner devices that translate published books into Braille. Future programmers have shown interest in the technology tools in the library. The staff of the department said that they provide psychological support, help to find their way in life and sponsor every person who has lost their eyesight. The library has created all conditions for the development of literacy for the blind. Telephones have special programs for the blind. After visiting the library departments and familiarizing themselves with the library's activities, the students took part in an event organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the international campaign “16 days of activism against gender violence”, organized according to the library's plan, in order to promote gender equality, the role of women in society.
During the event, a former employee, a veteran of this library, Iminova Mariyam Ruzakhunovna, now a teacher at the "Zhyly uya" rehabilitation center, held an educational lecture for students on respect for women in life as sisters, mothers.
Future programmers were impressed by the work of blind employees, admired the interest of visually impaired citizens in life, the desire for education, and received a special spiritual influence.
At the end of the evening, Abylkhan Alikhan performed the kui ”Toremurat“, ”Zholaushi" on dombra and expressed gratitude to the blind employees on behalf of those present.
