Rector of KazNU met with scientists-turkologists

Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with Turkicologists who specially arrived at the higher educational institution.

The delegation included Nikolai Egorov, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor; Dusmamat Kulmamatov, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Uzbek State University of World Languages; Alexander Vasiliev, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Head of the Department of Oriental History of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Innokenty Novgorodov, Doctor of Philological Sciences, member of the scientific and editorial board of the International Information and Analytical Journal "Crede Experto: Transport, Society, Education, Language".

During the conversation the issues of development of Turkology in the country and the world were discussed.

Welcoming the guests of honor, Zhanseit Tuimebaev noted that scientists of KazNU carry out extensive work on the most pressing issues of Turkology.

Today the chair of Turkology and language theory successfully functions at the university. Also on the basis of the higher educational institution the Research Institute of Turkology and Altaic Studies has been created. Currently, the specialists of the center are conducting extensive research work on rare manuscripts and ancient books.

Foreign Turkic scientists emphasized the huge potential of KazNU and expressed readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation. They also proposed to create a common dictionary in Turkic, Bashkir and Yakut languages.
