In KazNU discussed the issues of sustainable development of society

Al-Farabi KazNU hosted an international round table "Sustainable development through the prism of corporate, environmental and social responsibility: today and tomorrow".

The event, organized by the Department of Management of the Higher School of Economics and Business together with partners, was aimed at sharing experience and transferring best practices in the field of corporate responsibility, discussing the impact of environmental and social programs on business and society, as well as the formation of strategies to improve sustainable development of countries.

The round table was attended by international experts from the USA, UK, Poland, Finland, Russia, representatives of the management and faculty of Al-Farabi KazNU and students of the university.

With a welcoming speech to the participants of the meeting addressed the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Zhamila Aitzhanova. Emphasizing the relevance of the topic of the round table, the Vice-Rector said: "For many years, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has been actively engaged in the issues of sustainable development, attracting prominent specialists and scientists, including Nobel laureates, to the joint work.

KazNU created its roadmap for work in the field of sustainability and became the first university in the post-Soviet space - a member of the UN Academic Impact (UNAI) program. The UN Headquarters in New York granted KazNU the status of the global hub of the UN Academic Impact (UNAI) program on sustainability. Following the course of continuity, the university organizes major international events with the participation of international experts. They discuss issues and share experiences in higher education and science. I am sure that the work of the round table today will be productive and will yield significant results".

The session was also addressed by: Dean of HSEB Caspian University named after Al-Farabi, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor Leyla Bimendieva, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor of Management Department of KazNU Ainagul Adambekova, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Gulzhikhan Smagulova, Ph.D., Professor, Dean of HSEB Caspian University Nazigul Amangeldy, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting of KazNU Azhar Nurmaganbetova and others.

The participants of the roundtable discussed the most important factors affecting business responsibility within the framework of ESG standards to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
