The social project "Affordable food on campus" is realized in KazNU

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University implements a social project "Affordable Food on Campus" aimed at realizing Sustainable Development Goal #2.

The aim of the project is to promote healthy eating culture among students and prevent wastefulness.
According to the UN, every day the inhabitants of the planet throw away about 1 billion servings of food, which is more than 1 billion tons of wasted food per year. 800 million people in the world suffer from hunger. For example, in 2022, 1.05 billion tons of food waste was produced, which is nearly one-fifth of all food available to consumers.
As part of this project, students from the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of Constitutional and Administrative Law filmed and published various videos on social media. Young people urged citizens to refuse to eat semi-finished products and fatty food with spices harmful to human health.
Also within the framework of the social project students were given special discounts in canteens and coffee shops located on the campus of KazNU.
