A subbotnik within the framework of the action "Clean Kazakhstan" was held in KazNU

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took an active part in the republican action "Clean Kazakhstan". The event is held in all regions of the country on the initiative of the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev.

Within the framework of the action in KazNU was organized a clean-up day, the territory of the campus was cleaned of garbage. The event was attended by heads, employees of structural units of the university, faculty and students of 16 faculties.

About 10 thousand people cleaned up the territories adjacent to dormitories and educational buildings, cleaned lawns from garbage, leaves and broken branches.

Also participants of the clean-up day whitewashed the trees of KazNU campus.

The head of the university Zhanseit Tuimebaev specially came to the clean-up day and inspected the progress of the work. The rector talked to the youth and urged them to take care of the environment.

The students of the university also cleaned the territory of the university along Al-Farabi Avenue and Timiryazeva Street.

"Such measures promote careful attitude to the environment and formation of ecological culture. Besides, such actions urge us to protect the environment, to keep the city clean, not to throw away garbage," says 3rd year student Kuralai Kurman.
