KazNU hosted a meeting with writers from Yakutia

A creative meeting with representatives of the Union of Writers of Yakutia was held in the library of the National University of Al-Farabi KazNU.

As part of the Days of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Kazakhstan, the event was attended by: The People's Writer of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Vice-President of the Academy of Spirituality Nikolai Luginov, the State Prize laureate, poet, Secretary of the Union of Writers of Russia Natalia Kharlampieva, the Chairman of the Union of Writers of Yakutia, Gavril Androsov, poet, member of the Union of Writers of Russia, director of the publishing house "Alta", Zinaida Arkhipova, poet, member of the Union of Writers of Russia, deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine "Cholbon" Danil Makeev.

The guests were greeted by Yerkin Duisenov, member of the Board of Directors of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Vice-Rector for Operations, who noted that recently Kazakh-Yakut relations have been developing in a new direction.

"The Sakha are one of the Turkic peoples who are close to the Kazakhs. I am glad that our spiritual relations have begun to revive without any problems. Literary and scientific works that show Yakutia's roots in the Turkic world should be studied by today's youth.  It is important to get to know each other better through artistic works, expand cultural cooperation, and develop a culture of reading. The Department of Turkology of KazNU has scientific relations with scientists of Sakha. In the future we will work together on common goals", - noted Erkin Yermanovich.

Writers from Yakutia presented their creative works, read poems in Yakut and answered students' questions.

"Meeting with student youth on the eve of the International Day of Books and Copyright left a special impression on us. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has great scientific potential. We are honored to hold a creative meeting at such a world-class educational institution," said Natalia Kharlampieva.

At the end of the meeting, the delegation of Yakutia presented Al-Farabi Library with art books in Yakut and Kazakh languages, translated by Kazakh writers and poets.
