KazNU scientists participated in the conference of the National Bank of Kazakhstan

Within the framework of active cooperation and interaction of scientists of KazNU with the National Bank of Kazakhstan, scientists-researchers of the Department of Economics - Professor Dr. Bulat Mukhamediyev and Ph.D. Dinara Rakhmatullayeva - were invited to the annual scientific-practical conference seminar "Challenges and Prospects for Economic Development" on May 3 in Almaty (Double Tree by Hilton). The seminar program included a review of the results of interesting scientific research conducted by scientists from different universities worldwide and under the grant funding of the NB RK. The reports included topical problems of external shocks, monetary policy evaluation, wage rigidity issues, and fiscal multipliers' role in the prospects of green bonds for Kazakhstan. We actively discussed the problems of financial fraud and the debt burden of households. The conference format was multi-lingual (Kazakh, English, and Russian) for the first time. Among the seminar moderators were two graduates of KazNU – Vitaliy Tutushkin, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, and Nurbolat Mukanov, Advisor to the Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan. It was exciting to discuss current scientific trends with colleagues from different countries; meeting our talented graduates and discussing the prospects for further cooperation was nice.
