The International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Problems of Soil Conservation and Sustainable Use of Land Resources” is being held

At Al-Farabi KazNU on May 17-18, 2024, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Problems of Soil Conservation and Sustainable Use of Land Resources” is being held, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the 90th anniversary of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Zhamalbekov Yesbol Usimbekovich's birth.

The purpose of the conference is to form scientific views, approaches, and methods to improve the main directions in the field of soil conservation and sustainable use of land resources, as well as to activate international scientific and educational contacts among scientific and production organizations and individuals – representatives of Earth Sciences, practice, and education.

The conference brought together leading scientists and experts in the field of soil conservation and sustainable use of land resources from various countries, including Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and China. Among the invited speakers were professors and doctors of sciences from leading educational institutions and research institutes.

Participants of the conference had the opportunity to attend plenary sessions, sectional meetings, and view poster presentations. Scientists were able to exchange knowledge and experience, as well as discuss innovative approaches to land resource management and protection. The sectional work of the conference was conducted in the following areas: geographical and ecological aspects of sustainable development, technologies and innovations in land management and cadastre, research on contemporary issues of soil conservation and agro-landscapes, and research in the field of agro-industrial production and food security.

As part of the conference, a classroom named after Professor Zhamalbekov Yesbol Usimbekovich was opened at the Department of Geography, Land Management, and Cadastre of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management. This event is a significant milestone for the entire academic university community.
