The Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for the 63rd time celebrated the traditional Day of Chemists, timed to the 90th anniversary of our university and faculty.
This wonderful tradition was born in the university 63 years ago, when Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Alma Sarmurzina organized the first Chemist's Day. The holiday is solemnly celebrated in the walls of KazNU to this day.
Every five years graduates who graduated from the faculty 5-60 years ago, as well as guests from near and far abroad come to the faculty. This year the Day of Chemists was dedicated to europium - element number 63 in the Mendeleev table.
The holiday was opened by the member of the Board - pro-rector on operational activity of KazNU Erkin Duisenov, then the dean of faculty Alina Galeeva made a welcoming speech and told that 7 research laboratories were opened at the faculty.
The event continued with online congratulations of E. Bekturova, a graduate of the faculty (70 years ago), and G. Kenzhebaeva, a graduate (60 years ago) from Canada.
The Chemists' Day organized by the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry for all graduates of the faculty was interesting and eventful. Graduates of each year made congratulatory speeches and presented special awards to their native faculty.
