THE TREASURY SET A RECORD IN THE IR RANKINGS

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has become the only one among Kazakh universities, which for the first time entered the Top 401-600 of Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings - 2024.

 

A total of 1963 universities worldwide are ranked in the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings (THE IR).

The UN Sustainable Development Goals are aimed at improving the health, well-being and protection of the planet. The methodology of the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings is based on the analysis of the following areas of university activity: research, socially oriented programs, resource management, and the university's contribution to education.

Compared to last year, this year KazNU entered the Top 100 for two goals: SDG 5 "Gender Equality" - 56th place and SDG 7 "Affordable and Clean Energy" - 68th place. The university entered the Top 200 for SDG 12 "Responsible consumption and production", SDG 14 "Life under water", SDG 15 "Life on land". On SDG 6 "Clean Water and Sanitation" KazNU improved the result by 100 positions, taking 201 places out of 300. On SDG 3 "Healthy Lifestyle" moved up 200 positions, taking 601 place out of 800.

Al-Farabi KazNU retained its position in the Top 401-600 in such areas as: SDG 2 "End Hunger", SDG 8 "Decent Work and Economic Growth", SDG 9 "Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure", SDG 11 "Sustainable Cities and Communities", SDG 13 "Combating Climate Change", SDG 16 "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions", SDG 17 "Partnership for Sustainable Development".

High assessment of KazNU contribution to the implementation of 17 SDGs by THE rating agency is a worthy confirmation of the university's policy aimed at transforming knowledge for a sustainable future.
