«Micro-Satellite Experience 2024» Summer camp

The students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University are taking part in the “2024 Micro-Satellite Experience” Summer camp, held at the Northwestern Polytechnical University of China. The Summer camp began on June 16 and will end on June 27, 2024. The camp program consists of many professional lectures, Chinese language and culture courses, as well as tours of NPU campus, advanced enterprises and cultural attractions.

There were selected 20 students of technical and engineering specialties of the Faculty of Physics and Technology and the Faculty of Information Technology to participate in the summer camp, who showed excellent results in their studies, actively participated in events at the faculty and university levels, and participants in scientific projects. Senior lecturer of the Department of Solid State Physics and Nonlinear Physics of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, PhD Zhexebay Dauren was approved as the supervisor of the participants.

This event is holding as part of ongoing career guidance work to attract undergraduates to the NPU branch, opened on the basis of KazNU, as well as in accordance with the MOU on microsatellite research and talent cultivation between two universities, which was signed by the rector of KazNU Tuimebaev Zhanseit and the vice-president of NPU Yao Xiaokui. The summer camp provides participants with a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the academic environment of China's leading technical university, Chinese culture, listen to lectures by leading experts in the field of design, manufacture and launch of microsatellites, as well as plunge into the world of microsatellites in general.
