Silk Road Universities Alliance (UASR) agreement signed

At the international symposium "Cooperation in Higher Education and Production Integration" held in Astana, the Silk Road Universities Alliance (UASR) signed an agreement on China-Kazakhstan cooperation in the spheres of industry, education, science, technology. The initiators of the agreement are Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Xi'an Jiaotong TBEA Co., Ltd. and Farabi Technology Innovation Park.
The main objective is to promote coordinated development of science, technology, education and human resources by connecting to global innovation resources and integrating into the global innovation ecosystem. Under the agreement, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University will act as a liaison for Kazakh universities and Xi'an Jiaotong University for the Chinese side. The two universities will be responsible for day-to-day communication and coordination, jointly ensuring the effective resolution of specific issues on cooperation and interaction between the universities of both countries.
The document identifies 197 enterprises that are among the Chinese members of the collaboration. These manufacturing companies work closely with Xi'an Jiaotong University, UASR member universities and member universities of the Yellow River Basin University Alliance. Kazakhstani members of the collaboration included Farabi Technology Innovation Park.
To develop the partnership, comprehensive support will be provided to Chinese and Kazakh universities and enterprises to establish overseas innovation centers and consortia. The centers will pool scientific and technological innovation resources to promote regional technological progress. To integrate industry, universities and research, the consortia will implement the "1121" model - "One Center, One Incubator, Two Chains, One Common Platform". The model will promote cross-border cooperation between industry, universities and research institutes.
According to the organizers, the agreement aims to integrate educational resources with industry needs, achieve mutual benefits and results, and support the further development of the Silk Road Economic Belt.
