KazNU and ZTE Corporation signed an agreement
Chairman of the Board - Rector of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebayev held a meeting with the delegation headed by Senior Vice President of ZTE Corporation Liu Jiang.
The delegation includes Vice President of ZTE Corporation Xue Bin, Director of Government Affairs of Beijing Office Liu Sichuan, General Director of Business Development of the Corporation in CIS countries Wei Wei.
At the meeting, the parties considered issues on enhancing partnership and highly appreciated the dynamics of comprehensive cooperation, which is systematically filled with new content. They also discussed the development of digital transformation and joint realization of innovative technologies.
During the meeting, the rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev and Senior Vice President of ZTE Corporation Liu Jian signed a cooperation agreement.
This memorandum will allow to use scientific and educational resources of both parties. Also on the basis of KazNU will open a joint innovation center. ZTE Corporation will provide the necessary equipment for the new facility. Joint Innovation Center in the future will provide ample opportunities for training of highly qualified specialists in the Chinese language, internships for teachers and students, implementation of new technologies.
Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev, welcoming the honored guests to the university, informed about the scientific activities of the university.
"The institution has the status of a research university. Therefore, we pay great attention to scientific and innovation projects. During the official visit of the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan, an agreement was signed with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev. Under the agreement, the most powerful supercomputer in Central Asia with a maximum performance of 1.94 PFLOPS will be imported to KazNU. The supercomputer will allow scientists throughout Kazakhstan to work with large amounts of data, respond to various situations of government agencies and enter a new era in the development of the country's IT infrastructure. In this context, it is important to work with leading companies such as ZTE to produce technologies, implement scientific projects and effectively use supercomputers in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. I think that today's meeting and the signed agreement will become a new stage in the development of friendly relations not only for both sides, but also between our states," - said the rector.
In turn, Senior Vice President of ZTE Corporation Liu Jian thanked the management and staff of KazNU for the hospitality and expressed readiness to support all initiatives aimed at fruitful cooperation in the field of digital transformation.
"ZTE company was founded in 1985 in Shenzhen, China. Today, the company's research centers operate in many countries around the world. Our organization provides equipment and services in 140 countries and regions, serving more than 500 telecom operators in South Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America, Africa and CIS countries," said Liu Jian.
At the end of the talks, the parties agreed to systematically implement all the initiatives specified in the signed agreement and exchanged commemorative gifts.
