KazNU establishes cooperation with Kyongdong University

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU  Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the delegation headed by the President of Kyongdong University Mr. Lee Jong.

At the meeting, Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev spoke about the activities of the university and its achievements, noting that the study of oriental languages within the walls of the university began in the 70s of the twentieth century. "The Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University is a large center of training of highly qualified specialists with knowledge of Oriental languages, in demand abroad and in various spheres of economy and foreign policy of the country. The Far East Department is successfully working at the faculty," the rector said. In his speech he noted the scientific and educational experience of KazNU with universities, institutes and organizations of Korea.

In turn, Mr. Lee John thanked the leadership of KazNU for their time and spoke about the history of the university. "Kendon University with 35 faculties was founded in 1981. It has more than 10 thousand students, 20 percent of them are foreign students. At the same time, we are ready to cooperate with you on student exchange, research, joint implementation of double degree programs," President Lee John stressed.

Today, Al-Farabi KazNU has established strategic cooperation with 59 universities and organizations in South Korea. Leading Korean scientists have been engaged for scientific supervision and lecturing to PhD students of KazNU. In 2022, three professors from Sunmen University of Korea were invited to the university. One of them - Professor Lee Beng Jo today continues teaching activities in the walls of KazNU. The university also has an International Center of Korean Studies, aimed at comprehensive study of Korean history, culture, politics, economics, Korean language.
