The branch of NWPU (PRC) at KazNU accepts students

The branch of North-West Polytechnic University (NWPU), based on Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, offers bachelor's degrees in the most relevant fields today: Electronics and Communication Technologies, Materials Science and Engineering, and Computer Science and Technologies.

Recall that during the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev to China in May 2023, an agreement was signed on opening a branch of the Northwest Polytechnic University of the People's Republic of China (NWPU) in Kazakhstan. Based on the agreement, a branch of the Northwestern Polytechnic University of the People's Republic of China was opened at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on 12 October.
NWPU is one of China's leading technical universities, ranked in the top 200 in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2023, top 600 in THE 2023 (317th) and 253rd in the U.S.NEWS 2023 international ranking.
Masters students study the first year in Kazakhstan and the second year in China. Upon graduation, they receive diplomas from two universities: KazNU and NWPU. Graduates will be able to work in international technology companies. Today, many Chinese manufacturers are opening representative offices in Kazakhstan, and diplomas from KazNU and SZPU give young specialists an edge when seeking employment in large Chinese companies such as Huawei and ZTE.
A comprehensive test (CT) is required for admission. Scholarship holders are automatically admitted. Non-scholarship holders who score above 75 will be given a chance for an interview. Additional scholarships are available for industry students. The application deadline is 20 August.
