Rector of KazNU meets with the President of Tsukuba University in Astana

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the President of Tsukuba University Nagata Kyosuke.

The meeting was held within the framework of the VI Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States and the First Summit of the dialogue "Central Asia + Japan", which is held in Astana.

The parties exchanged views, discussing areas of cooperation between the two universities. In particular, they discussed the creation of a joint seismological centre and introduction of Japanese scientists' experience in seismology in our country.

From the side of KazNU it was offered to create a joint centre on manufacturing of medicines from natural herbs and to organize courses of Kazakh and Japanese language. This initiative will further increase the interest of Japanese youth in learning the Kazakh language. This year, two students from the University of Tsukuba are studying the Kazakh language at KazNU.

The parties also discussed the plan of joint activities within the framework of the project "Campus to Campus". At the end of the meeting it was agreed that the delegation of scientists led by the President of the University of Tsukuba Nagata Kesuke will visit KazNU with a working visit at the end of October 2024.
