Rector of KazNU meets with Chinese writer Akbar Mazhit
Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with a famous Chinese writer, translator, ex-deputy of the People's Political Consultative Council of the People's Republic of China Akbar Mazhit.
Akbar Mazhit is a member of the Writers' Union of China, a laureate of the State Prize of China, and the author of more than a dozen books, including translations of Abay's works into Chinese.
Zhanseit Tuimebaev noted the importance of this meeting from the point of view of further promotion of partnership with Chinese universities and discussed with the guest issues of development of education, science and spiritual sphere. The close relations between KazNU and Chinese universities were also discussed at the meeting.
‘Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is an important partner of Chinese universities. Today a lot of work is being done with the neighbouring state to develop academic mobility programmes, joint implementation of scientific projects. We are interested in the comprehensive development of ties in higher education and science,’ - said the rector.
In turn, Akbar Mazhit thanked the leadership of KazNU for the attention and voiced a number of proposals.
‘Having familiarised myself with the latest achievements of KazNU, I noticed that the scientific potential of the university is being revealed and developed. In the future, together with scientists of KazNU it will be possible to publish scientific articles in international journals. We are ready to work together in this direction’, - said Akbar Mazhit.
In addition, during the conversation the parties paid special attention to the expansion of cooperation in the spheres of philology and journalism.
