Students from the People's Republic of China Xi'an city arrived for summer camp at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
During three days 37 students and 3 teachers from 10 universities of China will get acquainted with the history of Kazakhstan and cultural heritage of our ancestors.
The event was organised by the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Faculty of History. During the summer camp, students will also learn about the activities and history of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
‘Our goal is to familiarise foreigners with the history of Kazakhstan, to tell them more about the country's universities. And, of course, to attract and interest students to come to our master's programme. On the Chinese side, teachers also take part in today's event. In this camp, the priority is given to history and culture’, - said the dean of the Faculty of History Dosbol Baigunakov.
The students will also visit other universities in Almaty, visit museums, historical sites and recreation areas, organisers said.
‘My name is Wendy. I am studying at Northwestern Polytechnic University in China. Already entering the territory of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, I felt that the history of this place is very informative and interesting. During the excursion I got acquainted with the annals of the higher educational institution, witnessed historical photos. This trip makes a special impression. I am very happy to come to Kazakhstan, including KazNU,’ said Wendy, one of the summer camp participants.
Today Al-Farabi KazNU closely co-operates with a number of Chinese universities. Currently, a branch of the North-West Polytechnic University is successfully functioning on the basis of KazNU. The work on exchange of teachers and students through the academic mobility programme has been established between KazNU and Chinese universities.
