KazNU scientist became an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Rector of KazNU and scientists took part in the meeting of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebayev and scientists of the university took part in a solemn event dedicated to the official presentation of the scientific community of the newly elected academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting was attended by Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darhan Ahmed-Zaki, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbaev, Deputy Mayor of Almaty Azamat Kaldybekov, the first heads and representatives of 42 universities and 40 research institutes, more than 50 young scientists, as well as representatives of the media.

In his welcoming speech, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President Akylbek Kurishbaev emphasized the importance of systemic reform in the field of science in Kazakhstan and the need to create a new mechanism of governance, where scientists have a significant voice. He noted that the establishment of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan with giving it state status is a key element of this new system.

Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek in his video message reminded about the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev from June 1, 2022 to increase the role of the National Academy of Sciences, giving it a state status. He emphasized the stages of implementation of this order, including the establishment of a non-profit joint stock company “National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and giving the Academy a special status under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Minister also noted the importance of the recently signed law “On Science and Technology Policy” as the main innovation in the field of science in recent times.

Diplomas and badges to the newly elected academicians were officially handed over to the Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education of RK Ahmed-Zaki Darkhan Zhumakanovich.

Among them is a scientist of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, Professor Tlekkabyl Ramazanov. He became an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the department of sciences “On Earth, Space and Communications”.
