Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev held talks with a delegation headed by Vice President of Hainan Vocational College of Science and Technology Pan Lin.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on cooperation in training professional interpreters fluent in Kazakh, Russian, English and Chinese.

During the conversation, Zhanseit Tuimebev noted that the visit of the delegation led by Pan Lin would give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations and bring them to a new level.

‘More than 26 thousand students study at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. More than 4 thousand of them are young people from abroad. Currently, 970 Chinese students are studying at the institution. I believe that in the future we will have more opportunities for joint work in tourism. Today there are few specialists fluent in English and Chinese. Therefore, in the future KazNU will be able to train highly qualified translators. I believe that work in this direction should be carried out jointly’, - said the rector.

In turn, Mr Pan Lin voiced a number of proposals aimed at developing partnerships.

‘Now China pays great attention to the development of science. Therefore, I am sure that the two universities together will develop scientific partnership in a new direction. In order to strengthen the partnership, I propose to hold joint international scientific events and intensify student exchange work,’ said the college vice-president.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed support for all initiatives aimed at developing bilateral partnership and agreed to systematically implement the above-mentioned works.
