Cleanliness week started at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Teachers and students of 16 faculties, as well as employees of the university took an active part in the subbotnik, which is held within the framework of the nationwide environmental action ‘Taza Kazakhstan’.
The Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev in his message to the people of Kazakhstan noted: ‘For several months, about 3 million people have participated in the event “Taza Kazakhstan”. This is not a temporary action, this important project should continue all year round. In other words, it is necessary that care for the cleanliness of the environment becomes an everyday norm for everyone’.
The participants of the action tidied up the territories adjacent to the dormitories and educational buildings.
The purpose of the week of cleanliness - formation of ecological culture and improvement of sanitary condition of the campus of KazNU, involvement of the youth in keeping cleanliness and order.
During the clean-up day, the university territory was cleared of rubbish, dry grass and leaves.
Special equipment was used to transport the collected rubbish and waste to an organised landfill.
