Joint projects with scientists in Thailand are being implemented
Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the delegation of the Kingdom of Thailand and Halal Research Centre of Chulalongkorn University. The head of the university welcomed the honoured guests and spoke about the activities and achievements of the leading higher education institution of the country, which is included in the Top 200, taking 163rd place in the QS ranking.
KazNU has long-standing ties with universities of Thailand. In 2013 the delegation of KazNU took part in the 2nd forum of Asian universities ‘Creating a new vision for the future of Asian universities’, organised by the leading universities of the Asian region Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) and Seoul National University (South Korea). During the meeting the representatives of the universities considered the issues of establishing and developing co-operation and identifying possible ways of further cooperation. In 2021, Chulalongkorn University held an international scientific seminar on ‘The contribution of Al-Farabi to the modern world’, which was attended by representatives of KazNU, making reports. Thanking representatives of Chulalongkorn University for visit and interest to activity of KazNU, Zhanseit Kanseituly noted that range of possible directions of co-operation is very wide, and prospects of interaction are extensive. It is necessary to discuss and develop specific steps in order to realise joint projects in the sphere of scientific research, academic exchange and other areas.
In turn, the head of the delegation, representative of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand, Dr Orathai Phubunlap Gunasilan, thanking for the hospitality, spoke about the achievements of Chulalongkorn Public Autonomous Research University in Bangkok (Thailand). It consists of 19 faculties, 3 colleges, 1 school and several institutes and has 40,000 students. ‘Having got acquainted with the scientific infrastructure of KazNU, we received a lot of interesting and important information that will help us to develop a strategy of mutually beneficial cooperation’, - emphasised Orathai Phubunlap Gunasilan.
The meeting ended with a discussion of partnership development and implementation of joint research and educational projects.
