The II International Congress ‘Interdisciplinary interaction in the framework of men's health’ dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the leading higher education institution of the country started in Al-Farabi KazNU.
The forum was organised by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Al-Farabi KazNU, Almaty Public Health Department and Men's Health NGO.
The Congress united leading specialists in the field of medicine and healthcare from Kazakhstan and foreign countries. The rich programme included presentations by speakers - scientists from the USA, the Netherlands, Turkey, UAE, Europe, Georgia, China and Russia.
On behalf of the management of Al-Farabi KazNU the participants were welcomed by the member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities Zhamila Aitzhanova: ‘Interdisciplinary interactions are a new trend in modern medicine, when doctors of different specialities are united by one goal - to quickly and qualitatively choose the right treatment for patients in need. Today's congress is attended by the Secretary General of the International Society of Urology (SIU), Professor Jean de la Rosette, Executive Director of the Eurasian Urological Association, Professor N.J.Sadybekov (Kyrgyzstan), President of the Uzbek Association of Urologists, Professor A.A.Gaibullaev and other recognised experts in the field,’ said the Vice-Rector. - I wish the congress to be fruitful in a friendly atmosphere’.
Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Urology and Andrology of Lomonosov Moscow State University's Faculty of Physiology and Medicine Armais Kamalov noted in his welcoming speech the close ties between the scientists of Russia and Kazakhstan. ‘Our friendship and long-term co-operation in the framework of interdisciplinary and international projects contributes not only to the expansion of scientific knowledge and exchange of experience, but also strengthens integrative ties between our countries,’ emphasised Armais Kamalov. - I would like to note that in Russia and Kazakhstan the provision of andrological care is at a very high level. The exchange of experience at such events makes an invaluable contribution to this’.
Within the framework of the plenary session, reports on topical issues were presented by: Professor of the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Public Health, Al-Farabi KazNU, Chairman of the Public Association ‘Men's Health’ RK Bulat Shalekenov, Acting Head of the Public Health Department of Almaty Nazgul Imangalieva, Secretary General of the International Society of Urology (SIU), Professor Jean de la Rosette, Professor of the University Clinic of Moscow State University (Russia) Vladimir Bozhedomov and others.
The participants discussed topical issues: modern methods of diagnostics and treatment of urological diseases and the latest technologies: robotic surgery and minimally invasive procedures, innovations in reproductive medicine, new reproductive technologies, in vitro fertilisation methods and genetic testing. The discussions touched upon the issues of overcoming infertility and increasing the efficiency of reproductive programmes.
