The Confucius Institute of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was opened in 2002 jointly with Lanzhou University of China. Along with teaching Chinese to the local population, the institute implements various educational programs and projects. In this direction, the Confucius Institute annually maintains close contact with the Department of Language and General Education of Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-University Education and organizes various events on the history and culture, traditions and customs of the People's Republic of China. This year, the cultural event dedicated to the Day of Education of the People's Republic of China was actively attended by students and teachers of this department, who witnessed beautiful songs and dances of the Land of the Rising Sun, as well as music played on various instruments. Initiatives of this kind also help to develop diplomacy and cooperation in various fields, which is especially important in the modern world.
The purpose of the festival is to support art and develop diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and China. Music, dancing, and songs are a universal language that united participants and viewers, creating an atmosphere of mutual respect and admiration for each other's art. This will always be one of the soft power of the SDGs to promote partnerships for sustainable development.
