Presentation of Pivotal Papers on Turkic Languages and Culture
On October 7, 2024, an important event for Turkology took place at the library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty. It was organized by the Turkic Academy and KazNU and was dedicated to the presentation of J. Tuymebaev’s book: "Theoretical Principles and Criteria for the Historical-Genetic Differentiation of Turkic-Mongolian Lexical Parallels" and Bekir Chobanzade's "Tıltutka," as well as the terminological dictionaries of Turkic languages.
Distinguished scholars, including Şahin Mustafaev, President of the Turkic Academy and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, along with Evren Müderrisoğlu, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty, participated and talked about the significance of these works for Turkological research.
During the presentation, renowned linguists such as Jangara Dadebaev, Anar Fazylzhanova, Eleonora Suleimenova, and Raushan Avakova discussed current issues in the study of Turkic languages and shared their scholarly insights.
The second-year students of the Turkology Department also actively participated in this event, gaining valuable experience. They deepened their understanding of their field, increased their interest in research, and established direct connections with leading scholars. The importance of preserving and studying the common culture of Turkic peoples became more evident, further strengthening their motivation to pursue their future profession.
This event marked a crucial step in deepening the understanding of Turkic languages and culture. The newly presented works will contribute significantly to fostering scientific cooperation between Turkic nations and passing on shared values to future generations.
