The international scientific conference Hot Stars: Life with Circumstellar Matter, dedicated to stellar astrophysics, was launched at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
More than 50 foreign expert scientists from the USA, Canada, Russia, China, India and other countries took part in the large-scale event held within the framework of the 90th anniversary of the university.
The historical heritage of Abu Nasr al-Farabi, his invaluable contribution as a philosopher and scientist in the formation of modern observational astronomy plays a special role in holding the conference in the walls of KazNU.
Conference participants noted the contribution of al-Farabi to the formation of mathematical foundations of knowledge about the movement of celestial luminaries and the allocation of the place of astronomy in the field of natural philosophy.
During the event, scientists shared information and discussed modern research in the field of hot stars with circumstellar gas-dust shells.
It should be noted that the event, organised by the Faculty of Physics and Technology and the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of KazNU is supported by the V.G.Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute and the Institute of Engineering and Basic Sciences, as well as with the assistance of individual groups of Nazarbayev University.
