Public Council of Almaty Hears Police Report

Within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals №17. Partnership for Sustainable Development
October 8, 2024, a meeting of the Public Council of Almaty was held where Major General A.R. Zapparov, Head of the Almaty Police Department, presented a report on the department's activities since the beginning of the year.
The meeting was attended by members of the Public Council, the leadership of the police department, representatives of district police departments, public figures, media representatives, and other stakeholders.
The meeting was opened by the chairman of the Commission No. 1 of the Public Council of Almaty, professor of the Department of World historiography and source studies B.A. Zhaparov. The first to speak was the chairman of the Public Council of Almaty A.O. Kobeeva.
Major General Zapparov then presented the report, familiarizing the members of the Public Council and those present with the issues of public order and safety in the city and the results of the department's work in addressing them during the reporting period. The data presented showed that the police department is carrying out effective and systematic work to ensure safety and public order in the city.
Deputy Head of the Department, Police Colonel O.V. Agafonova, focused on methods to combat online fraud and measures taken to ensure cybersecurity of networks frequently used by teenagers and schoolchildren.
The heads of the department gave comprehensive and concrete answers to all questions asked by members of the Public Council and participants. The members of the Public Council positively assessed the report of the Police Department.
