Agreement with Hunan University of Education
Within the framework of the visit of the delegation of Hunan Pedagogical University to KazNU a memorandum of co-operation was signed, which consolidated mutually beneficial partnership of the parties.
The delegation was welcomed by Yerkin Duisenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board - First Vice-Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU. He pointed out that the university cooperates with 64 universities in the People's Republic of China, with various joint projects in the field of science and education. In particular, in 2002, KazNU opened the Chinese Language Centre, which was opened jointly with Lanzhou University and was renamed the Confucius Institute in 2007 by a decision of the Ministry of Education and Science. The Confucius Institute at KazNU is the result of long-term cooperation and joint efforts of Kazakh National University and Lanzhou University. During the period of its work, a textbook was published and Chinese language was taught to more than 3000 students.

Liu Huide, Vice President of Hunan University of Education, spoke about the university, which is funded by the Hunan provincial government and the Chinese Ministry of Education. The university ranks 5th among the top 100 universities in the People's Republic of China and is among the top 350 leading universities in terms of the quality of scientific publications in the natural sciences according to the Nature Index (2023). At the end of his speech, Mr Liu Huide made a number of proposals to be implemented in the framework of the agreement.
The meeting ended with a solemn ceremony of signing a memorandum of cooperation defining the main directions of interaction in the field of science and education.
