Current problems of information technologies are analysed

Al-Farabi KazNU is hosting a conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the university and the 75th anniversary of academician Shaltai Smagulov Computational and Information Technologies in Science, Engineering and Education (CITech-2024).
The event gathered prominent scientists, professors from near and far abroad. Representatives of the management, teaching staff and students of the university also took part.
The conference was opened by the moderator - Academician of NIA and NAS RK, President of the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Zhumagulov. Stressing the importance of the scientific forum, timed to two significant dates, he dwelt on the achievements of Shaltai Smagulovich Smagulov - an outstanding scientist, a major specialist in the field of computational mathematics and theory of differential equations, author of more than 200 works, including 8 monographs on the most important problems of computational and applied mathematics.
At the opening of the meeting was read out the welcoming speech of the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, who wished the participants of the representative forum fruitful work and scientific research.
The welcoming speech of the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev was read by Altay Kazmagambetov, member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. ‘Shaltai Smagulovich is an outstanding scientist, teacher and organiser of science. His contribution to the development of computational mathematics and mathematical modelling is truly invaluable. He created a scientific school and developed numerical methods for solving Navier-Stokes equations. Today's conference is not only an opportunity to discuss the latest achievements of science and technology, but also to pay tribute to Shaltai Smagulovich,’ the letter said.
The plenary session was also addressed by: Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor of Lomonosov Moscow State University Peter Vabishchev, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Academician Mukhtarbai Otelbaev, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Academician of NIA RK Aidarkhan Kaltaev, Director of the V.M. Matrosov Institute of Dynamics of Systems and Control Theory of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Igor Bychkov and others.
