Liaison with the Beijing Institute of Technology is underway

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev held a meeting with Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) Wang Benkong.

 

During the conversation the parties exchanged views on topical issues of multilateral cooperation between higher education institutions and outlined plans for the future.
In his speech Zhanseit Tuimebaev noted that today KazNU has established relations and actively interacts with 65 higher education institutions, organisations of the People's Republic of China. ‘For us it is extremely important to develop the field of technology, so we are ready and always open to new initiatives’, - emphasised the rector.

In turn, the vice-president of the Beijing Institute of Technology drew the attention of the rector of KazNU to the issues of building partnership in three main directions.

‘BIT was founded in 1940 in Yan'an and was moved to the city of Beijing in 1949. Today, the institute has 33,000 students. Of them - 3 thousand foreigners. In addition, the largest number of visitors from Kazakhstan. Beijing Institute of Technology is among the top ten universities in China. In the QS World University Rankings, the university ranks 302nd. We intend to intensify our relations with Al-Farabi KazNU in the field of technology. In addition, we want to work with you to develop student talents and implement the academic mobility programme,’ said Wang Benkong.

At the end of the meeting the sides noted the fruitful nature of the talks and expressed readiness to continue active interstate co-operation.
