In accordance with one of the directives of the Sustainable Development Goals program, specifically the "Life on Land" objective, measures were implemented on October 12, 2024, with the aim of safeguarding the natural environment and preventing pollution. These measures involved the cleaning of the Medeu ice rink in Almaty from plastic waste. This event was organized by K. K. Kabdoldina, senior lecturer of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Faculty of History, and with the participation of 1st-year students of the specialty "Scientific History". Plastic bags take 300-700 years to decompose. Even after 1,000 years, they remain toxic and pollute the environment. Students can help conserve the ecosystem by taking part in environmental initiatives. They can help solve global environmental problems and create a sustainable future for future generations.
