International round table "Bright image of a man, teacher, scientist and philosopher"
In this 2024 year KazNU named after Al-Farabi celebrates a great jubilee event - 90 years since its foundation. Within the framework of celebrating this grandiose event the university has planned a number of events. In this regard, the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science together with doctoral students of the 2-3 course of the educational programme of Cultural Studies of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi organised and held on 28 September 2024 an international round table «The LIGHT image of a human being, PEDAGOGUE, SCIENTIST AND PHILOSOPHER» dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the 104th anniversary of the birth of honoured figure of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Kasym Khalliulinovich Rakhmatullin.
Professor K.H. Rakhmatullin was a teacher with a capital letter. During the years of his scientific and pedagogical activity he trained hundreds, thousands of specialists. Under his guidance more than 60 candidates and doctors of sciences successfully defended their theses.
In scientific researches of Professor K.H. Rakhmatullin organically combined natural science base and philosophical depth. His main scientific interests: philosophical problems of natural science (primarily astronomy), principles of dialectics, ontology, scientific and technological revolution, scientific picture of the world.
Professor K.H. Rakhmatullin put forward theoretical ideas new for that time, which laid the foundation of a new current in philosophy of the twentieth century - philosophy of science in Kazakhstan. His works on astronomy and astronautics received a positive response among Soviet, domestic and foreign scientists, were included in the bibliography of works on astronomy and astronautics of the American aeronautics agency NASA.
The main directions of work of the international round table
- Military and labour feats of Prof. K.H. Rakhmatullin in the military and post-war times.
- Actualisation of philosophical and world outlook ideas of Prof. K.H. Rakhmatullin in modern philosophy of science.
- The potential of philosophical knowledge in comprehension of problems of challenges of the XXI century. The World Before and After ‘COVID’.
- Human capital and the formation of modern paideia (models of training and education) in the world and Kazakhstan.
- Philosophy and methodology of research of the problem of correlation of natural and social.
Within the framework of the round table were heard the reports on the following topics: ‘Military and labour feats of K.H. Rakhmatullin in the military and post-war time’, ‘Actualisation of philosophical and ideological ideas of K.H. Rakhmatullin in the modern worldview. Rakhmatullin in modern philosophy of science’, “Human capital and the formation of modern paideia (model of education and upbringing) in the world and Kazakhstan”, “Philosophy and methodology of research of the problem of the correlation of natural and social”, “Bright memory of K.H. Rakhmatullin”.
The participants of the round table were professors of international universities, teaching staff and doctoral students of KazNU named after Al-Farabi. Special attention at the round table was paid to the scientific heritage of Kasym Khalliulinovich Rakhmatullin - honoured figure of Kazakhstan, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of philosophy, ethics and cultural studies. His works devoted to the issues of morality, social responsibility and interaction between culture and science are still relevant and in demand.
The event ended with recommendations on the development of scientific ties, expansion of educational programmes and research projects. It was decided to hold an annual scientific conference dedicated to the legacy of Kasym Rakhmatullin, which will be a necessary step in popularising his creative heritage.
The international round table was an important event that emphasised the historical originality of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the outstanding contribution of Professor Kasym Rakhmatullin to the development of science and culture in Kazakhstan. This event reminded the importance of continuity in science and was the beginning of international dialogue in determination.
