Students met with renowned artist, journalist

An event for students was held at the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The main guest of the event was a famous Kazakh artist, State Prize winner, painter, journalist and cultural activist Zhanuzak Musapir.

Zhanuzak Musapir tried himself in several professional spheres - he worked as a teacher, school director, teacher of Almaty State Institute of Theatre and Painting named after T.Zhurgenov. He has worked as a teacher, school director, teacher at the Almaty State Institute of Theatre and Painting named after T.Zhurgenov, artist-director of the Kazakhfilm studio, on TV channels - Almaty, Rakhat, Khabar Agency, RTRK Kazakhstan, Education and Culture, and headed information directorates. Currently, he hosts the programme ‘Magic Brush’, dedicated to the life and work of artists on the TV channel ‘Abay’.

Kanat Auesbay, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, recalled: ‘When I was a student, my mentor in the profession was Sagatbek Medeubekuly, and in life - Zhanuzak Мусапир».

At the meeting with students, Zhanuzak Musapir shared his life experience accumulated during his creative journey and gave a lot of useful advice. Senior teachers told about their joint work with Zhanuzak Musapir, shared the achievements of colleagues, recalled the years of their labour activity

As Kanat Auesbay, Dean of the Faculty, noted, this meeting gave journalism students a valuable experience. They got answers to their questions, were won over by the simplicity and openness of Zhanuzak Musapir.

And the artist was able to get acquainted with the new generation of the Faculty of Journalism of the National University, conducted a three-hour interview with students and felt the great interest of young people in his work.
