The Department of Plasma Physics, Nanotechnology and Computer Physics of the Faculty of Physics and Technology held an important event "Energy of Kazakhstan today and tomorrow" among 2nd year students of the OP "Electric Power Industry", dedicated to the theme "SDG 7-affordable and clean energy". The students prepared posters, mock-ups and presentations, and talked about the current problems of power plants in the country. The participants focused on the operation of various power plants throughout Kazakhstan and deeply analyzed their energy efficiency. He also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of solar and wind farms powered by renewable energy sources, as well as traditional power plants. Among the advantages of traditional power plants are their high capacity and sustainability, as well as significant disadvantages such as high carbon dioxide emissions and negative environmental impact. Attention was drawn to the fact that renewable energy sources, although they have climate restrictions, contribute to the development of green energy in the future on the basis of minimal negative impact on the environment and reduction of energy costs. This event, taking into account the principles of sustainable development of students and environmental aspects of the energy industry, not only broadened the horizons of students in professional education, but also identified the importance of quality education to promote the development of the country's energy sector.
