Students of KAzNU held NATO Mini-Model
November 13, 2015 KazNU Resource and Information Center on NATO with support of NATO Public Diplomacy Division held Vannual national students’ NATO Mini-Model. Topic of the game: «NATO-Central Asia cooperation in countering international terrorism». The aim of this NATO mini-model is to study positions of NATO members and of Central Asian countries in search for new mechanisms and methods of combating international terrorism.
Mini-model started by welcome speeches of Director, Resource and Information Center on NATO Professor K.Baizakova and Dean of International Relations Department Shakirov K. and honorary guests.
NATO mini-model’s honorary guests were: Mr. Peteer Miller, Deputy Head of Mission/Consul of Estonian Embassy (current NATO Contact point Embassy); Mrs. Jennifer Tasker, Second Secretary-Political of British Embassy; Mr. Engin Daloglu, Attaché at Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty; Colonel Ruslan Zhakupov, «Partnership for Peace» Training Centre of the Army Academy (KAZCENT); Dr. Hemdan Ibrahem, Cultural and Educational Attaché of Embassy of Egypt.
Playing Imitation-game of NATO Council and NATO Military Committee participants put forward their proposals and in result of long and intense discussions they had adopted Declaration and Resolution. In these documents participants propounded a number of interesting ideas and recommendations on combating international terrorism. Also, students had the experience in analytic thinking, public speeches and search for compromise.
NATO mini-model program included brief video conference with Rosaria Puglisi, NATO Liaison Officer in Central Asia.
