4th year students of the specialty 6B05301- “Chemistry”, as part of studying the subject “Chemical Expertise of Food Products”, visited the exhibition for food industry professionals FoodExpo Qazaqstan 2024, which was held at the Atakent Center for Documentation and Documentation. The future chemists were accompanied by Associate Professor of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry R.G. Ryskalieva.
The exhibition provided unique opportunities for students to explore a wide range of products and advanced technologies for food production: from raw materials and ingredients to automated production lines and innovative packaging equipment.
Moreover, among the participants were such industry leaders as CIS Market (Kazakhstan), Cere (Switzerland), Gostol (Slovenia), Fava S.P.A. (Italy), Denozli Ozstar (Turkey), Diosna Dierks & Söhne Gmbh (Germany), Storm Technologies (Kazakhstan), Unified Trading System (Russia / Kazakhstan), Favorite Techno (Kazakhstan). The exhibition site presents food and drinks, food additives and spices, as well as equipment and technologies from 30 countries.
During the exhibition, FoodForum Qazaqstan 2024 was held on the topic: “Stable growth and effective strategies in the production and sale of food and beverages.”
A visit to the exhibition helped students understand the importance of raising the competitiveness of Kazakhstani brands on the global stage.
Teacher Ryskalieva R.G. highlighted the fact that such events help achieve the UN Global Sustainable Development Goals, such as SDG2 (End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture) and SDG4 (Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote learning opportunities throughout life for everyone).
Students saw how many types of products are produced and were reluctant to observe modern automated technological processes.  But the most important result of visiting the exhibition is that representatives of participating companies invited graduates to work for them, since qualified chemical technologists are very much needed in production.
