Anti-corruption Student Olympiad

The Al-Farabi KazNU hosted the Republican Anti-Corruption Student Olympiad, which was attended by university teams from all corners of the country.

 

The event was opened by Yerkin Duisenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board - Acting First Vice-Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU. ‘Anti-corruption is the main, priority direction of the state policy. Society must realise that the successful implementation of all socio-economic and political reforms, the welfare of the country and each individual citizen depends on how much we reduce the level of corruption in the country’, - Yerkin Duysenovych stressed in his speech. Having shared his vision of how the society should counteract corruption, he wished the participants of the Olympiad good luck and fruitful work.

Arman Rakhimov, Head of the Almaty Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, also addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, noting that the Olympiad is attended not only by students of legal specialities, but also by students from other fields. ‘You are the future of our country, and it is extremely important that the categories of honesty, openness and fairness become an integral part of your professional and personal life, - emphasised Arman Tastemirovich. - It is you - the participants of today's Olympiad - who will create innovative solutions, build trust and shape the reputation of our country’.

The Olympiad programme included anti-corruption knowledge testing, case problem solving and a captains' competition. An authoritative jury summarised the results of the Olympiad and determined the winners.

The team of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi ‘Integro’, having shown erudition, resourcefulness and creativity, took the honourable third place. The second place was awarded to the team ‘Guardians of the Law’ of Kostanay Regional University named after A. Baitursynuly. The first place was taken by the team ‘Әdilet’ of Kokshetau University named after Sh.Ualikhanov. All participants were awarded certificates and pennants.

Team captains who distinguished themselves with their analytical thinking and oratorical skills were specially recognised by the jury and received anti-corruption textbooks as prizes.
