The lecture was titled "Three Concepts of Tolerance"

On December 4, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, in the Grand Hall of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, as part of the UN-approved project "17 Sustainable Development Goals," Associate Professor K.M. Borbasova of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Al-Farabi KazNU, along with doctoral candidate A.B. Mukan from the Department of Islamic Studies, organized a public lecture by Dr. John Mahoney, Professor at Kansas State University and Doctor of Philosophy. The lecture was titled "Three Concepts of Tolerance" and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal of Quality Education.

The lecture was attended by students, master’s degree candidates, and doctoral candidates specializing in religious studies and cultural studies. During the session, three different approaches to tolerance were discussed. Professor Mahoney was asked questions on the topic, and students also shared their opinions.
