KazNU took part in the GUPLS-2024 summit

Representatives of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the Global University Leaders Summit (Global University Presidents & Leaders Summit, GUPLS 2024).
The summit was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and brought together leaders and leading scholars from universities worldwide, serving as a platform to discuss global issues and future prospects in the field of education.
Alya Aktymbaeva, Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management at KazNU named after Al-Farabi, delivered a report at one of the main sessions of the summit, focusing on the topic "Demographic Changes and the Education of the Future". In her speech, she emphasized the importance of adapting educational systems to the challenges of demographic changes and presented the experience of KazNU in sustainable development, innovative research, and training professionals for the future.
The report presented unique approaches to integrating sustainable development mechanisms into the educational process and scientific research. The author also highlighted the importance of international cooperation among universities in creating educational programs that promote global harmony and prosperity.
The GUPLS 2024 summit this year gathered over 200 representatives from leading universities from more than 50 countries.
Key topics discussed at the summit included artificial intelligence, education in the era of global changes, ethics of technology, sustainable development, and innovation.
Thanks to its active participation, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University strengthened its position as one of the leading universities in Central Asia, actively promoting the ideas of sustainable development on the international stage, fulfilling SDG 17.
