Strengthening ties with Kyrgyz colleagues

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev held a meeting with a delegation of the Zhusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University headed by Rector Dogdurbek Chontoev.

The guest delegation included: Vice-Rector for Science M.Dyldaev, Ph.D., professor S.Tillebaev, Head of the Economic Department M.Turdubaev, Head of the Strategic Development Department Zh.Dzhylkychieva, Head of the Department of Academic Mobility, Education and Network Master's degree S.Shermatova, Dean of the Faculty of Public and municipal administration K.Bazakeeva, Dean of the Faculty of Geography, ecology and tourism R.Toktorova, Director of the Higher School of Economics N.Musayeva, Head of the Digital Development Department A.Abeldenov.

During the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed aimed at strengthening and expanding cooperation in the scientific and educational sphere. As part of the agreement, the two higher education institutions intend to implement joint projects in the future.

Welcoming the guests, Zhanseit Tuimebayev thanked the representatives of the KNU for their interest in cooperation with KazNU. Also in his speech, the head of the university told the guests about the activities of the KazNU branch in Bishkek. 

The rector of KazNU said: "On May 22, 2022, with the participation of the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tokayev K.K. and the Kyrgyz Republic Zhaparov S.N., the KazNU branch in Bishkek was officially opened.  Today, 31 students study at the branch, 21 of them in the specialty "jurisprudence"; 7 in Information technology; 3 in biological and related sciences (biomedicine). The educational process is carried out in two languages: russian and english. After graduation, graduates will receive diplomas from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University".

In turn, the rector of KNU named after Zh.Balasagyna Dogdurbek Chontoev noted the importance of deepening contacts between the two leading universities of their countries.

In conclusion, the parties expressed hope for continued successful cooperation for the benefit of the common interests of the two universities.
