KazNU student – winner of OceanMan-2024

A student of the Law Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, famous athlete Eldar Shekerbek won a bronze medal at the OceanMan-2024 world open water swimming championships.
The final of the world open water swimming championship, which was attended by more than 2,200 athletes from 62 countries, was held in the UAE, in the city of Dubai.
Eldar Shekerbek showed an outstanding result, taking an honorable third place in the 3x500m relay, winning a bronze medal. In addition, Eldar took part in the most prestigious 10km swim, where he finished 5th among 101 participants, despite difficult weather conditions, strong winds and high waves.
Olympic medalists and participants of the world championships took part in the competition, which makes its result especially significant.
Eldar Shekerbek is a two–time world champion, Asian champion, one of the top five swimmers in the world at a distance of 10km in open water, in the age group of 20-29 years.
