Agreement with the University of Grenoble-Alpes

Deputy Chairman of the Board and Acting First Vice–Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Yerkin Duissenov, held a meeting with representatives of the University of Grenoble-Alpes (UGA). The main focus was on discussing the prospects for further co-operation between the two universities, including the launch of joint educational programs and dual degrees. This initiative is an important step towards strengthening international academic ties and improving the quality of specialist training.
The official visit of representatives of the University of Grenoble-Alpes (UGA) to the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is carried out within the framework of bilateral agreements reached during negotiations between the Presidents of Kazakhstan and France on joint training of specialists in the field of seismology.
The French delegation is represented by: Agnes Bousset, Director of the "Geoenergetics" Center at KazNU, Pascal Igue, Director of International Relations at the Faculty of Science at UGA and Professor of Geosciences, and Christian Suy, Professor of the Earth's Crust and Geodynamics.
As part of the visit, meetings are scheduled with the faculty members of the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics at the Faculty of Geography and Natural Resources management of KazNU to discuss joint educational programs in the field of seismology. The visit will also include a tour of the seismic station of the LLP "National scientific center for seismological observations and research" and meetings with representatives of scientific institutions.
The key event of the visit was the signing of an agreement on academic mobility between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the University of Grenoble-Alpes. This agreement opens up new opportunities for the exchange of students and academic staff, which will contribute to the mutual enrichment of academic experience and professional development of specialists.
It is expected that this visit will become the basis for deepening collaboration between universities and developing new joint projects in the field of geosciences.
