KazNU scientists are among the winners of the "Best Scientist of 2024" award.

As a result of the "Best Scientist of 2024" competition, four scientists from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University were included in the list of 50 researchers from research institutes, universities, and scientific divisions of organizations.
The annual "Best Scientist" award was established by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on "Science and Technological Policy" dated July 1, 2024. The award is aimed at supporting and encouraging scientists and researchers who have made significant contributions to the development of science and technology.
A total of 308 applications were submitted for the competition across 7 categories: "Natural Sciences," "Engineering and Technology," "Medicine and Healthcare," "Social Sciences," "Humanities and Arts," "Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences," and "Military Sciences and National Security."
The prestigious list of winners of the "Best Scientist" competition includes scientists from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: Professor Habibulla Abdullin from the Department of Solid State Physics and New Materials Technology, Faculty of Physics and Technology; Doctor of Law, Professor, and Head of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Forensic Science Rimma Jansaraeva; Acting Professor of the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Evidence-Based Medicine at the Research Institute of Health Natalia Glushkova; and PhD, Professor of the Department of Biotechnology and Leading Researcher at the Research Institute of Ecological Stability and Biological Resources Nuraly Akimbekov.
The criteria for evaluating scientific achievements were developed in collaboration with the scientific and expert community. Applications were reviewed by the Republican Competition Commission and checked by expert groups. Leading scientists, independent experts, and representatives of state bodies participated in the commission and expert groups.
