KazNU student will carry Kazakhstan's flag at the World Winter Universiade

A student of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, Ayaulim Amrenova, will carry the flag of the Kazakhstan national team at the World Winter Universiade in Italy. She will represent our country in freestyle skiing at the sports event, which will take place from January 13 to 23 in the city of Turin.

 

Ayaulim Amrenova is a first-year doctoral student at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Care, and one of the leading athletes of the freestyle skiing national team. In her achievements, she has gold, silver, and bronze medals from the 2017 European Cup stages. She represented Kazakhstan at two Olympic Games: in Pyeongchang (2018) and Beijing (2022).

The Kazakhstan national team consists of 103 athletes who will represent our country in 10 sports: biathlon, short track, cross-country skiing, figure skating, winter orienteering, freestyle skiing, alpine skiing, as well as men's and women's hockey and para cross-country skiing, which has been included in the competition program for the first time.

The XXXII Winter Universiade of 2025 will be one of the largest student sports arenas. About 2,000 athletes from 57 countries are expected to participate, competing for 96 sets of medals in 11 sports.
