KazNU employee participates in the organization of the Winter Universiade

Gulbaram Kulakhmetova, PhD, lecturer at the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, participates in the organization of the XXXII World Winter Universiade in Turin (Italy).

More than 2,000 participants from 57 countries are competing in 11 sports, including biathlon, ice hockey, alpine skiing, and figure skating. G.A.Kulakhmetova's involvement in organizing such a large-scale event not only highlights the significance of KazNU in the global educational space but also contributes to the development of international dialogue and cooperation.

Gulbaram Kulakhmetova holds the responsible and honorary position of a member of the International Control Committee (CIC) of the International University Sports Federation (FISU). In her role, she coordinates crucial aspects of organizing the 32nd Winter Universiade, including ensuring the transparency of procedures and adherence to international standards. One of the key tasks of the International Control Committee is to verify and confirm that athletes and officials meet the requirements for participation in the Universiade.

This level of responsibility and trust highlights the high professionalism, deep knowledge, and experience of Gulbaram Amantaevna, which are highly valued in the international sports community. Her contribution to the organization of the Universiade not only strengthens Kazakhstan's position on the global stage but also supports the implementation of international standards in student sports.

The organization of such events is closely linked to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations. The World Winter Universiade contributes to achieving goals such as promoting health and well-being (SDG 3) and fostering global partnerships (SDG 17).
